Why a browser template rather than a Word file
The traditional invoice template is a .docx or .xlsx you
download and edit. Three things go wrong, reliably:
- The layout breaks. Add a line item and the table pushes the totals onto a second page. Change the font and the alignment collapses.
- The arithmetic is manual, or the formulas break. Excel templates
survive until somebody inserts a row inside a
SUMrange, and then quietly produce a wrong total. - It looks like a template. Clients see the same three Microsoft templates constantly.
Filling it in here avoids all three: the totals are calculated, the layout holds however many lines you add, and the PDF is generated by your browser's print engine — which is the same thing that produces every other PDF you send.
What this template includes
- Your details and your client's, each with space for a tax number
- Sequential invoice number and both dates
- As many line items as you need, with quantity and unit price
- Currency selection, printed in letters on the document
- Tax handling: none, a standard rate, reverse charge, or outside scope — with the correct statement added automatically
- Payment details and a notes field
- Your logo, if you want one
How to keep it consistent between invoices
Your own details and payment information are kept in your browser between visits, so the second invoice starts mostly filled in. Only the client, the number and the line items change.
Two habits that make a template look like a system: keep the same number format throughout (see invoice numbering), and keep the same description style. "Brand identity — phase 2 of 3, per proposal of 4 August" every time reads as an organised supplier; a different style each month reads as improvisation.
Printing and saving
The download button opens your browser's print dialog. Choose Save as PDF as the destination. Only the invoice itself is printed — the form, the navigation and everything else on this page are excluded by the print stylesheet.
If you want a paper copy, the same dialog prints it. The document is laid out for A4 and prints correctly on US Letter.

A template you fill in once, not every time
A template still means retyping the client, the terms and the number every month. Flowzivo keeps your clients and turns an accepted quote into an invoice in two clicks — multi-currency, and in your client’s language.
See Flowzivo →30-day trial, no card required. $8/month after that.
Frequently asked questions
Is this invoice template free to download?
Yes. You fill it in on the page and download the finished PDF. No account, no email address and no watermark.
Can I download the invoice as a PDF?
Yes. The download button opens your browser's print dialog — choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination. Only the invoice is included, not the page around it.
Why not use a Word or Excel invoice template?
They break when edited: the layout shifts when you add a line, and Excel formulas silently produce wrong totals when rows are inserted inside a SUM range. Filling in a browser template avoids both.
Are my details saved between invoices?
Your own business details and payment information are kept in your browser, so the next invoice starts pre-filled. Nothing is sent to a server, and the Clear button removes it.
Does the template work for A4 and US Letter?
Yes. It is laid out for A4 and prints correctly on US Letter without cropping.
